The Tailor and the Cook Named a Top 100 Restaurant in America

The Tailor and the Cook in Utica is pleased to announce that we’ve won a 2014 OpenTable Diners’ Choice Award for Americas Top 100 Restaurants.  Determined by more than 5 million reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners over the last year, the Top Restaurant honorees each bested more than 20,000 restaurants. We are so proud to be listed among many of our favorite restaurants, including Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Tarrytown, and Eleven Madison Park in New York City. “We are thrilled that The Tailor and the Cook has been recognized for excellence by OpenTable diners, and we look forward to introducing others to our unique brand of provocative local fare,” says owner and executive chef Tim Hardiman. Youtica EATS (Encouraging Action Through Service) is a crowd-sourced event that combines micro grants and supports local food. It has it’s roots in established community-based dinners like Brooklyn FEAST and Syracuse’s Salt City DISHES. Youtica EATS is an effort to fund valuable grassroots community projects by bringing people together at a common supper table. On October 5th, 2014, attendees will enjoy a family style dinner prepared by Chef Tim Hardiman and the staff from The Tailor and the Cook, learn about great community projects happening in our back yard, and democratically decide which proposed grassroots community projects to fund from a juried selection. Each project proposal will be presented during dinner and patrons will cast their vote for their favorite. At the end of the night the top voted projects will be awarded with micro grants, each up to $1,000 raised through the proceeds of our dinner. Right now, we’re looking for projects to be presented. If you have a project that needs an injection of funding, awareness and enthusiasm, submit it now!
